Unity is Power: Kogi Ex. Deputy Governor, Chief Onoja, Calls for Peace and Togetherness Among Youths.
My Dear Kogites,
I commend the growing spirit of unity, understanding, and maturity across our state, particularly among our youths. These values, rooted in peace, discipline, good character, and focus, remain the true foundation of a stable and progressive society. A people united in purpose and guided by wisdom will always rise above adversity.
History reminds us that division weakens societies, while unity strengthens them. The true strength of any people lies not in noise or hostility, but in love, patience, tolerance, courage, and a shared sense of purpose. Where unity prevails, injustice finds no lasting foothold.
To the youths of Kogi State, especially my brothers and sisters in the Igala and Bassa communities of Kogi East, I salute your growing sense of awareness and responsibility. While the past may have been marked by misunderstandings and moments of division, growth has come through reflection and progress through correction. The future now calls for wisdom, restraint, and cooperation.
Let me state this clearly: my political journey transcends tribe, religion, and social class. I believe in a Kogi where every citizen, regardless of background, is seen and treated as one. I have lived by this principle, and I will continue to uphold it. Our strength lies in building bridges across political parties, tribes, camps, and factions, not in deepening fault lines.
I urge all members and supporters of our great party, the APC, to remain actively engaged. Keep your PVCs safe, encourage others to register and participate, and stay politically informed.
We must reject the destructive habit of pulling others down in order to rise. Such a mindset weakens institutions, erodes trust, and sets us back as a people. True progress is built through collaboration, not conflict.
I can assure you that leaders and key stakeholders across the state, particularly in Kogi East, are engaging more than ever before, reconciling differences, building bridges, breaking barriers, and working together in the interest of peace and progress. This is a season for unity, not discord.
Above all, let us remember this: when all is said and done, Kogi belongs to us all. Our diversity is our strength, and our unity is our future.
Let love guide our actions, wisdom shape our choices, and peace define our engagements. With faith in God and commitment to one another, we will move forward stronger, fairer, and more united.
