Friday, 21st May, 2021, was yet, another black, sad day for the people of Ayere community, Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency, Okun Nation, Kogi West Senatorial District, and Kogi state, as we lost one of our own; Flt. Lt. A.A. Olufade, in an air crash that occurred somewhere in Kaduna.
This tragic incident which claimed the lives of our very loving brother, friend, associate and son; Flt. Lt. Olufade A.A. and others including the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General A. Attahiru is most shocking, painful and saddening.
That Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency has lost another son who had a very brilliant and promising career, almost a year after the death of Flying Officer Arotile Tolulope; whose demise remains a mystery, and unresolved, is totally tragic and unbelievable.
Most painful is that Flt. Lt. A.A. Olufade, who within a short period of his professional career in the Nigerian Airforce distinguished himself creditably with distinction, died at a time when his outstanding competencies, excellent capacities, illustrious capabilities, and unmistakable patriotic commitment are been deployed; effectively and efficiently, to the restoration of peace, security, unity and development across the country.
From the plethora of testimonials from people who knew him at different stages of his life, Flt. Lt. A.A. Olufade, was an embodiment of intellectual depth, academic excellence, and professional Fervour , who displays uncommon wisdom, unusual knowledge and unflinching doggedness in achieving institutional and personal objectives and targets. As a symbol of determination, hard work and courage, he, usually, excel, conquer and come victorious where others fear to thread.
As we mourn the untimely and tragic death of this great son of Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency and the Okun Nation; Flt. Lt. A. A. Olufade, it is my sincere prayers that God Almighty will grant the parents, family, siblings, relations, as well as the people of Ayere community, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, Amen. Also, I pray that the Lord God Almighty will strengthen the immediate family; particularly the wife, he has left behind. Further, I pray that God will put an end to untimely deaths amongst our people Amen.
