The maiden Edition of Commissioner unity cup for Kogi LGA has been held with
Bash Football club winning the competition 2 goals to 1 against Usodumi United of Chikara.
HRH the Nyiwo of Gegu Beki who was present at the football match, admonished that love, unity and peace remains key to exponential development.
The Traditional Ruler described Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu as God’s gift to humanity, said during the festive period alone, he organized life touching programs too numerous to mention.
The Traditional Ruler thanked the former Governor Yahaya Bello for the training and love he taught Engr. Bashiru, equally thanked Governor Ododo for the trust and confidence he has repose on Engr Bashir Gegu.
Hon Muhammad Shaibu, the Special Adviser on emergency Management to Governor Ahmed Ododo who represented the commissioner, took the kick off of the final match, cherished Engr Bashir Gegu’s leadership, advised other politicians to emulate his style of leadership.
The winner of the tournament went home with N500,000 while the second runner up got N250,000 and the third position went home with N100,000. All the other teams that participated went home with consolation gifts. 16 clubs participated in the tournament.
The best player of the tournament got a sponsorship through Bashir Gegu 4 Ododo Talent hunt to ply his talent outside the country.
