Tinubu Made Your Employment Possible – CMD Ugbodaga Tells New Staff At NOHB Orientation

The Chief Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic Hospital Benin, Dr. Philip Ugbodaga, has reminded newly recruited staff of the hospital that their employment was made possible through the approval and commitment of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr. Ugbodaga gave the charge during the Induction and Orientation Programme for newly employed staff of the hospital held in Benin City.
Addressing the new employees, the CMD emphasized that the opportunity to serve in a federal tertiary health institution comes with enormous responsibility, dedication, and a commitment to professionalism.
According to him, the recruitment exercise was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and improve service delivery in public hospitals across the country.
He noted that the administration of President Tinubu had continued to demonstrate commitment to the health sector through policies and approvals aimed at expanding the workforce and improving access to quality healthcare services for Nigerians.
Dr. Ugbodaga urged the new staff to justify the confidence reposed in them by the government by maintaining high standards of discipline, diligence, and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
He stressed that the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Benin has built a strong reputation as a centre of excellence in orthopaedic care, training, and research, adding that the new employees must align themselves with the hospital’s culture of professionalism and patient-centred care.
The CMD further encouraged them to take advantage of the orientation programme to understand the hospital’s operational procedures, rules, and expectations, noting that the programme was designed to equip them with the knowledge required to function effectively within the system in line with the hospital’s 5-year strategic plan.
Dr. Ugbodaga also reminded the staff that healthcare delivery is a team effort and called on them to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to ensure efficient and compassionate service to patients.
He reaffirmed the management’s commitment to staff development, welfare, and the provision of an enabling environment that would allow workers to perform optimally.
The induction and orientation programme forms part of the hospital’s standard onboarding process aimed at preparing newly recruited staff for their roles while familiarizing them with the vision, mission, and core values of the institution.
