.. VOWS 700,000 VOTES FOR President Tinubu From Kogi West in 2027
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Services Committee, Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi, says his advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election is not new, describing it as a long-standing, organic commitment built on visible results for Kogi State.
Addressing a mammoth town hall meeting on Thursday in Kabba with stakeholders from Kabba/Bunu and Ijumu LGAs, Sen. Karimi said President Tinubu has delivered unprecedented dividends to Kogi and Kogi West, and the only way to reciprocate is with massive votes in 2027.
“President Tinubu is too much for us in Kogi and Kogi West. Never in history has Kogi state and Kogi West enjoyed so much like it is doing now,” Karimi declared.
“The reward for the good work of Tinubu is to vote massively for him in 2027 from Kogi West and the State as a whole. My support for Mr. President is organic. I have been campaigning for his re-election long before now because I see what he is doing.”
The Senator noted that as Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, he has proven to be a Tinubu disciple even on the floor of the Senate, consistently defending the President’s policies and ensuring Kogi West’s interests are protected. He also described appointments given to Kogi West indigenes in the Tinubu administration as unprecedented, saying they have given the district stronger representation at the center.
“I am out to speak for you people as your servant representative, defend and work for our people. All my actions are geared towards unity,” he said.
“I am not fighting any leader of APC. I am for the APC and its unity on how to deliver Kogi West for President Tinubu.”
Anchoring his work on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Sen. Karimi reeled out projects with direct impact on communities:
In line with the President’s focus on education, he awarded scholarships to 1,000 tertiary students in 2024 and 3,000 in 2025. He facilitated the building of several schools across the constituency and donated N10 million each to Anglican Church Nursery School, Iyara Day, Ayetoro Day, and Ekinrin Adde Day Secondary Schools. He also released N20 million of a pledged N50 million for Kabba Day to support education and community development.
Provided 30 solar-powered boreholes across Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu to ease access to clean water.
Attracted about N2 billion for road repairs in the constituency, which attracted an additional N6 billion from the Minister for the Kabba Ilorin road. He personally funded the Pakuta bridge and cited ongoing intervention on the Kabba-Ilorin road to improve trade and connectivity.
Provided transformers to communities and empowered 50 cooperative societies with grants and tools to grow small businesses.
The engagement drew APC leaders, former lawmakers, traditional representatives, women and youth leaders. Elder Ben Olowo Dollar, APC leader in Kabba/Bunu, said the meeting was to deepen direct dialogue. Chief Adegbega, who represented the Obaro of Kabba, offered prayers for Sen. Karimi and President Tinubu. Retired Colonel Dayo Abayomi endorsed the Senator for a second term, while former council chairman Moses Oluruleke and former lawmaker Samuel Meseko reaffirmed support. Women Leader Fehinti Dada appreciated his personal interventions, and the Ijumu representative announced their resolution to back his re-election.
In his closing remarks, Sen. Karimi made a bold pledge ahead of 2027.
“My love for President Tinubu is organic and my campaign for him has been on for a long time. By God’s grace, Kogi West will deliver close to 700,000 votes for President Tinubu in 2027,” he vowed.
He assured constituents that he will continue to prioritize projects that improve welfare and economic wellbeing, stressing that elections are won at the grassroots.
