Tinubu, best President in last 30 years – Sen. Karimi
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, said President Ahmed Bola Tinubu remains the best President Nigeria has ever had in the last 30 years.
The Senator has also assured Kogites of positive changes, declaring that the challenges confronting the state will be addressed through unity, dialogue and purposeful leadership.
Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday in Lokoja while addressing members of the Kogi Progressive State Stakeholders’ Forum, a gathering of party leaders, elders and political actors drawn from across the state.
Speaking against the backdrop of growing public dissatisfaction, the Senator acknowledged that many citizens are unaware with the current achievements of President Tinubu in Kogi, reason for enlightenment and sensitization.
He, however, urge stakeholders who are aggrieved to channel their concerns constructively rather than resort to political hostility.
“We are not here to fight,” Karimi said. “We are here to identify the loopholes and close them in the collective interest of Kogites.”
And Call for Calm and Engagement
The Senator stressed that political engagement must be guided by maturity and a shared commitment to the progress of the state.
According to him, agitation without dialogue would only deepen divisions, while consensus-building remains the surest path to development.
He noted that grievances expressed by citizens are legitimate and must be listened to, adding that leadership demands empathy and responsiveness.
“That is why we must engage honestly and work together to address these concerns.”
Senator Karimi commended former Governor Idris Wada, acknowledging his role in sustaining governance and democratic stability during his tenure. He said recognizing the contributions of past leaders is essential for continuity and institutional learning.
The Senator also spoke warmly about Honourable Baba Ali, describing him as a committed and dependable political figure whose grassroots influence has continued to strengthen the progressive movement in the state.
Reaffirming his political alignment, Karimi emphasized the need for unity among stakeholders to ensure the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the President’s victory and performance as crucial to national reform and stability.
“We want the President to win,” he said, urging party members to close ranks and focus on collective goals rather than internal disputes.
Concluding his address, Senator Karimi offered a note of optimism, assuring stakeholders and citizens that renewed commitment and cooperation would yield tangible results.
