For quite some days now a video clip of a young man named Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe has gone viral on many social platforms. There was an unidentified interviewer that came up with some questions for him to answer and the reply of this young man named Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe has called for this piece.

To those who do not speak and understand Ebira language, we will try and translate in English language what both the interviewer and the respondent voiced in that video clip.
Anonymous Interviewer: What is your name?
Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe: My name is Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe. I am from Upogoro.
Anonymous Interviewer: You told us you went for army training, what did you say happened to you at the camp?
Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe: I followed those qualified for the training through the state and we went to a place called Faragoli. I passed through the different tests of which blood test was one of it including documentation. I also participated in the race exercise ranging from the 10 to 20 kilometres at the Faragoli Forest. When we were later brought to Zaria, we were shared into different companies. Some people were made SF and that was the unit I belonged to. All of a sudden, a particular soldier came with the name Bello written on his name badge. He said, “Hey! Where are you from and which state did you come from?” I replied him that I am from Kogi State. He went further to ask of my Local Government Area and I told him I was from Okene. He then collected my chest number and gave it to another person. He then ordered me to pick my bag and leave the camp that I was not qualified. However, I was not the only one that was ejected out of the training camp. I begged him for a long time as I did not know what was my offence but he did not listen to me. He only said I was not qualified. Tears of agony almost came out of my eyes some 3 days back when this incident happened. I was not not having any money on me and I had to transport myself back home on one of the Dangote’s truck I was privileged to find favour from. I now put up with my friend here with my certificate in hand seeking for job. It was then my friend now told me that he knows a person like you and that we should meet you.
Anonymous Interviewer: What appeal are you making now to Kogi State Government and the Chief of Army Staff and especially His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello concerning this matter should it happens to another person again?
Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe: I want to appeal to them all to see into all the wickedness especially the one that has happened to me so that it will come to an end. I also want to appeal to them so that I can be returned back to the training camp. I was undergoing the process of screening when I lost my father. I begged my military trainers at the camp to go and see my father’s corpse but a particular soldier told me that once a man enters into this training, there is no going out until after the completion and that if I should go, I will not be allowed in anymore. I endured the pains of my father’s death just to see that I scale through the military training so that I can fend for myself without having to disturb anyone for help. END OF INTERVIEW.
It is good we appreciate the courage, determination and zeal of our brother Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe to enroll into the Nigerian Army. We all know it is not an easy task at all. Based on our findings, he is truly from Upogoro in Okene Local Government Area. We also confirmed that he succeeded in qualifying for the training process down to the point all of them in training were brought down to the Zaria training camp.
Our concerns in this video clip released is the part of truth that was left out by Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe. Also, the Anonymous Interviewer also brought in the name of His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State and also the Chief of Army Staff when he asked Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe what the two notable personalities should do to assist him in this case.
While we are not too comfortable to release to the public what actually led to the removal of Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe from the military training camp, we have no option as the way he presented the case to the public is now looking as if he was ejected from the training camp out of wickedness. The truth we have come by as we tried digging deep into this matter is that the character named Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe is suffering from a health related issue known as “EPILEPSY.” This is a type of sickness where a person thus affected suffers from unprovoked seizures. It is hard to say that some of the patients of EPILEPSY falls into the fire, water (be it hot or cold), falls on the road or even in the market square where we have large gathering of people transacting business. This is the health condition that the military discovered about Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe in Zaria and he was asked to leave the training camp immediate alacrity.
We know people suffering from the uncontrollable sickness of EPILEPSY still belongs to our society and should not be denied job opportunities however, a sensitive institution like the military cannot accommodate a person with this type of sickness in their formation.
It is sad that Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe instead of relaying the truth to the public rather decided to twist the issue as if all the Ebiras that qualified for the training were made to leave the training camp. Also, we expected him to have begged in that video clip using his condition as a tool to seek for help.
We will also give room to the public to make their findings also concerning the health condition that we have discovered that Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe is suffering from. We also appreciate all those who showed concern in this matter as every land wants their people to be part of the military formation of a country. We wish Yakubu Mutalib Ozovehe well in all his future endeavours while we counsel to learn how to say the truth in every matter as it is only the truth that can set one free.
