The leader of the All Progressives Party, APC, in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area, Professor Stephen Ocheni has implored members of the ruling party to sustain the spirit and commitment that has made it possible for the party to win all elections in the area.
Professor Ocheni made the call at Ajaka, headquarters of the Local government at the end of the Local Government Congress of the party held today.
He described the peace, friendliness and oneness that characterized the exercise as a sign that the party is not only loved and strong in the local government ,but was determined to further consolidate on its past electoral fortunes in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area.
Professor Ocheni who is the immediate past Minister of State, Labour and Employment advised members of the party at all levels in the Area to see the continued success of the APC in all elections as a priority and task that must be accomplished.
“I am satisfied with the outcome of this exercise, it shows the maturity of our party members, their total faith and believe that APC will continue to deliver quality leadership to Nigerians and Nigeria”,he said.
“There was no any form of rancour, bitterness, rather it was an exercise that was conducted to the satisfaction of all ,and this will continue to be the trajectory in the affairs of the Party in this Local Government”.
Professor Ocheni commended all stakeholders of the party in the Local Government for promoting unity and peace among members and stated that this was a step in the right direction for the party to maintain it’s popularity and acceptability in the entire Local government.
The former Minister commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for providing the enabling environment for a successful Local Government Congress of the party in the State.
Professor Ocheni called on the people of the state and other Nigerians to support the popular call on Governor Yahaya Bello to vie for the President of the Country come 2023 presidential election, just as he maintained that Governor Bello has all it takes to lead the country successfully .
