The Secretary of Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB), Hon. Alhassn Adakeke has called on Bassa people to keep supporting the laudable administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the state.
Hon Adakeke who doubles as the former majority leader of Kogi State House of Assembly made the call during the thanksgiving ceremony of the newly sworn-in Majority Leader of Bassa Legislative Council, Hon. Laruba Sekina Adamu held at Koji, Eforo ward of Bassa Local Government Area on Saturday.
The occasion also had in attendance the Senior Special Assistant on Information and communication to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Hon Chris Ben-Kato, the Senior Special Assistant on Energy, Bassa Council Chairman, Hon. Theophilus Adama Daruwana,Hon. Isiaka Ibrahim, Hon Muktar Shaibu Commissioner for Commerce and industry was represented at the occasion, Hon . Halimah Alhassan, Hon. Muhammed Akanya – Kakaki Bassa Nge and other top notch dignatories of the Local Government Area.
Hon Adakeke condemned in strong terms the recent skirmish in the Local Government Area maintaining that the people of the area should continue to maintain peace.
The SUBEB Scribe said the political appointments given to many Bassa sons and daughters by the APC led-administration in the state is a clear prove that His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has the people of the area in mind. He urged the Majority Leader of Bassa Council, Hon Laruba Sekinat Adamu and his colleagues in the council to emulate the good work of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in ensuring even development in the Local Government Area.
In his speech, the Bassa Council Chairman, Hon. Theophilus Adama Daruwana who was represented by his deputy, Hajia Aishat Aliyu Idris Beauty said the entire Bassa Council members were grateful to the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing a level playing ground for the APC members to participate in the just concluded council elections in the state. She said the governor also provided security for the smooth conduct of the election across the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state.
Hajia Aishat Aliyu Idris Beauty said Bassa Council ably led by Hon. Theophilus Adama Daruwana would work for the progress of the Local Government Area. She thanked the majority Leader of the council, Hon. Laruba Sekinat Adamu for organizing the thanksgiving programme for her victory at the polls. She called on the majority Leader and all the Legislators in the council to keep cooperating with the executive arm of government to move Bassa Local Government Area forward.
In his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant on Energy, Hon Isiaka Salihu Ibrahim thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for organizing a peaceful Council polls in the state. He charged the majority leader, Hon Laruba Sekinat Adamu to be good ambassador of Eforo ward, Bassa Local Government Area and Kogi State at large.
Earlier the celebrant who doubles as the majority Leader of Bassa council, Hon Laruba Sekinat Adamu said she was grateful to God for being elected to represent the good people of Eforo ward and as Bassa Legislative Council majority leader. She assured the people that she is prepared to give good representation of her people and to promote the progressive ideologies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state
