State vs Austin Olokor, 2 others Adjourn To 1 November 2021.

A Benin High Court 3 sitting in Benin City, has adjourned the criminal case involving Austin Olokor , 2 others ,Oluwa Esimije and Sunday Amamapoki in the alleged murder of Okhuoimose Omorodion and Genesis Orji who were killed during an internal rancour in ologbo community in Ikpoba okha Local government.

At today’s hearing, Austin Olokor and two others, Oluwa Esimije and Sunday Amamapoki were arraigned in High Court Criminal Court 3 on a 5 count charge.

The 3 accused persons were charged with 5 count charges of alleged conspiracy, kidnapping and murder of Okuomose Omorodion and Genesis Orji in Ologbo dukedom Ikpoba Okha Local government Area of Edo state

The Defendants’ offence contravened Sections 516, 327 and 316 (1) punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Act , Cap C38, Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004 and Section 2 (2) punishable under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Prohibition (Amendment) Law, 2013 of Edo State.

At today’s hearing, the state Counsel, Barrister Osasu Ewemande called her 1st witness, PW 1, but the counsel to the 1st accused person O. T.Okeke objected as he told the court that he has not been served the 1st witness statement.

According to him , the Prosecuting counsel served him with half of the statement of the 1st witness.
Having listen to both counsel , the Presiding Judge , Justice Ifijie asked both counsel s to go and harmonise their differences within 30 minutes.

At the resume hearing, the PW 1 admits his evidence and was cross examined.

His Lordship, Honourable Justice Ifijie adjourned the case to the 1st of November , 2021 for continuation of hearing.
