13-year-old Tennis whizz kid, Chukwudubem Amasiani, a JSS 2 student of Start-Rite Schools Abuja, one of the leading citadel of learning in the nation’s capital, was recently ranked as the No. 8 tennis player on the African continent for the under 14 category of the game by the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT).

Amasiani’s ranking as No. 8 in Africa came after his sparkling performance at the recent Under 14 African Junior Tennis Tournament in Namibia.

By the CAT ranking, the tennis prodigy is said to have become the No. 1 U-14 tennis player in West Africa.

A statement by the media and communications team of Start-Rite Schools disclosing the development reads:

“In a thrilling display of skill, Chukwudubem emerged victorious in both the Singles and Doubles competitions, outshining participants from Egypt, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Libya, Kenya, and Namibia. As Nigeria’s sole representative, Chukwudubem not only held his own but also brought home two championship titles, solidifying his position as the most decorated player of the two-week tournament.

“According to the ranking recently released by the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), Chukwudubem Amasiani is currently ranked No. 8 in Africa. This makes him the No. 1 U-14 tennis player in West Africa. The Nigerian teenage tennis sensation (a Year 8 Student of Start-Rite Secondary School) has proven to be one of the best players in his age category as he continues to impress with his exceptional talent and determination.

“Chukwudubem’s journey has been one of continuous growth and success. His recent achievements are a testament to his hard work, focus, and dedication to his sport. From his early days in local competitions to his triumphs on the international stage, he continues to inspire with his passion and excellence.
