The St.Kizito minor seminary Idah in Kogi state celebrated the catholic feast of Pentecost with an annual festival of arts and culture.
The festival which began with the celebration of Mass culminated into a potpourri of cultural and creative performances by the students and invited cultural troupes including the host community (Iyegu), dancers from the cathedral and other Catholic educational institutions and chaplaincies near the seminary.
The honourable commissioner for culture and tourism Hon.Isah Idachaba who represented the state government was unavoidably absent due to an urgent official assignment but sent a high powered delegation led by Baba Ojonugwa J.F.O a former national president of the largest union of black musicians in the world (PMAN) who is also an assistant director with the Kogi state council for arts & culture.
The commissioner in his speech reiterated the believe of the present administration of Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello in inculcating the arts & culture of Kogi in the education of students of all institutions of Kogi state and promised the junior seminarians an all expense paid excursion to culture and tourist sites in Lokoja the state capital.
The Rector of the institution Rev.Fr. Okolo appreciated his lordship the Bishop of Idah diocese for the opportunity and thanked all the guest, staff, parents and students for an awesome outing.
Highlights of the festival was the drama , dance and music performance by the students projecting unity in the cultural diversity of Nigeria.
