Special Adviser On Labour Matters, Hon. Onuh Edoka Receives Award of Excellence in Labour Leadership and Public Service

 

Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka has bagged an Award of Excellence in Labour leadership and public service.

Comrade Onuh Edoka Received the award on Thursday at the Government House during the thirty fifth Anniversary of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, also known as Radio Kogi.

Speaking after receiving the award, Comrade Edoka dedicated the award to Workers and the Chief servant of the state, saying while the workers offered him the opportunity to serve them, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo gave him the opportunity in public service as Special Adviser.

He praised the Management and Staff of Radio Kogi for recognising his modest contributions to the growth of the state, both as a former labour leader and as an appointee of the government under the present administration.

According to him, leadership is all about service to humanity, emphasizing that selflessness and sincerity are the hallmarks of good leadership.

Comrade Edoka stated that the award would spur him to do more, urging others to imbibe the spirit of giving and selfless service.

“I must sincerely appreciate the Management of Radio Kogi for finding me worthy of this award, this is because I am not the only former labour leader, neither am I the only serving Special Adviser, I will not take the honour for granted and so I say thanks to Radio Kogi leadership for this award”, Edoka stated.

Earlier, the Director General of Radio Kogi, Princess Nana Hauwa Yusuf, said the event was to reflect on the journey of thirty five years and chart a way forward.

She stated that Comrade Onuh Edoka was singled out for the special award in view of his impact in governance as well as his antecedents while serving as Labour leader which earned him a two term chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress in Kogi State.

Princess Nana appealed to others in leadership positions to always make impact for the sake of posterity.

Reports indicate that Comrade Onuh Edoka was accompanied by the Chairman of Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Sule Ahmed Tijani, Chairman of Joint Negotiating Council, Comrade Olusegun Alemeru, other labour leaders as well as friends of goodwill.
