South-South Community In Kogi Mourns Pa Adekoye Clement, Commiserates With Gov. Ododo’s Aide, Hon. Godfrey Adekoye

… Describes Late Patriarch As Man Of Peace Who Spent over Seven Decades Building Lokoja

The South-South States Residents in Kogi State have expressed their deepest shock and profound sadness over the death of Pa Adekoye Clement, father to Hon. Adekoye Godfrey, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Youth Empowerment.

The Southerners lamented the painful exit of the late patriarch when the President of South-South Residents and Special Adviser to the Governor on South-South Mobilization, Abu Micheal, led a high-powered delegation of the community on a condolence visit on Friday to the Senior Special Assistant at his GRA residence in Lokoja.

Speaking on behalf of the entire South-South community, Abu Micheal described Pa Adekoye Clement as a man of peace, a community builder and a respected elder statesman who lived all his life propagating peace, unity, growth and development of Lokoja, having lived in the confluence city for over seven decades.

He said Pa Adekoye was a detribalized Nigerian, a bridge builder and a father to all, whose life was defined by selfless service, humility, hard work and uncommon commitment to the progress of his adopted home, Lokoja.

“On behalf of all Southerners resident in Kogi State, we are deeply pained by this irreplaceable loss. Pa Adekoye was a repository of wisdom, a moral compass and an epitome of peace. He will be greatly missed now that his wealth of experience, wise counsel and fatherly guidance is most needed, not only by his immediate family but by the entire Lokoja community he so dearly loved and served,” Abu Micheal stated.

The Special Adviser urged Hon. Godfrey Adekoye to take solace in the rich, enduring and worthy legacies of his late father, insisting that the greatest honour he can do to his father is to continue to thread the path of development, unity, selfless service and community building which his father was known for throughout his life.

The Southerners, particularly indigenes of Kogi State of South-South extraction, said they are proud that late Pa Adekoye left behind a worthy, illustrious and highly responsible son who has sacrificed immensely in building a virile, united and prosperous Kogi State.

They described Hon. Godfrey Adekoye as a rare political asset, a four-time appointee whose meritorious service has spanned four successive administrations – the administrations of former Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, Capt. Idris Wada, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and now Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo – as a clear testament that he has made himself very relevant, dependable and indispensable in the building and sustenance of governance in the state.

The Southerners further described Hon. Godfrey Adekoye as an authentic youth mobilizer with organic followers across the state, a grassroots politician of uncommon loyalty and capacity, adding that it is not out of place to trace his sterling qualities to the solid upbringing and discipline instilled by his late father – a feat worthy of emulation by all parents.

The South-South community used the solemn visit to offer prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of Late Pa Adekoye Clement, praying Almighty God to grant the family, friends and associates he left behind the fortitude, strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss.

While assuring that the Southerners will in this moment of grief stand firmly with the Senior Special Assistant and his entire family, they pledged their full support, presence and solidarity now and during the burial ceremony slated for 5th December, 2026.

The delegation also used the visit to condole with the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and all appointees of the present administration over the loss of a patriarch who contributed significantly to the peace and stability of the state capital.
