Senate Steps Down Motion To Investigate Various Turnaround Maintenances Carried out on Nigerian Refineries Moved by Sen. Karimi

A call has been made for an urgent need to investigate the various turnaround and maintenance Projects carried out on Nigerian Refineries.

 

The Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Sunday Karimi made the call at today’s plenary, said the investigation is to uncover waste ànd forestall further waste of scarce public resources.

According to Sen. Karimi, between 2010 and now, Nigeria has spent over N11.35 Trillion on renovating the State owned refineries.

Following the overwhelming support enjoyed by the motion moved by Sen. Karimi, the Senate President requested that the motion be shifted for effective legislative oversight and investigation, consequently the motion was referred to a standing Committee.

The Senate President requested that the motion be debated after constitution of the various standing committees.

The debate and contribution on the bill was therefore stood down till the Senate constitutes its Committees.
