A media Aide to the Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi says his Principal’s major preoccupation is how to offer quality representation and attract the much talked about dividends of democracy to the people of the district and not to talk trivialities.
In a statement issued by the Senator’s Media aide, Bolaji Thompson, while reacting to an interview granted by Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Ibukun, the NNPP Senatorial District Candidate in the last general election who lost woefully having secured an insignificant vote in the last Senatorial District Election.
Sen Karimi’s aide described the series of interview the NNPP Senatorial candidate has been granting of late as an attempt to blackmail his Principal, said Sen. Karimi has serious issues to respond to that bothers on the development and welfare of the people of Kogi West and not to succumb to blackmail.
Sen. Karimi’s aide explained that he was aware of financial demand made by the NNPP Senatorial candidate from his principal to enable him withdraw his case when he wrongly went to the Tribunal.
” But since my Principal didn’t asked the NNPP Candidate to ignorantly approach the Tribunal, it didn’t behoove on my Principal to help him offset any legal bill as he was asking for”.
” I’m aware that following Legal advice by professionals as it has to do with the electoral act as amended on his perception of missing Party Logo or name by INEC”.
“The NNPP candidate having been schooled on his wrong perception, had no choice but to willingly withdraw his case without my Principal entering into any negotiation or agreement to assist in offsetting his Legal fee that he claimed to have paid his Legal team. He on his own saw sense and withdrew his case himself ”
“So it will be stupidity for the Senator to want to accept to pay the Legal fee of the NNPP Candidate for going to the Tribunal in ignorance”.
” Approaching the Tribunal in error and expecting assistance from my Principal will be foolhardy in an election that was squarely won, clean and clear by my Principal and the APC”.
” How many vote did the NNPP Candidate score in the said election in the first place if he was that popular. It is unfortunate that honour has been thrown to the wind, for him to want to use blackmail against my Principal ”
The Media aide to Sen. Karimi urged the NNPP Candidate to pretend to remain honourable as he is only making a mockery and laughing stock of himself trying to use the tactics of blackmail.
“Our principal regards Mr Bukky as his brother and also hope to enjoy a mutually beneficiary relationship with him”, counsel Mr Bukky to exercise patience, as my principal is still facing litigation in the Appeal court instituted by TJ Yusuf.
The Media Aide concluded by saying that, “My Principal didn’t enter into any agreement nor promise to offset the legal fee of the NNPP Candidate. Sen. Karimi has a reputation widely acknowledge as a man of sincerity and would not make promises he will not fulfil, least of all, promise to write off legal fee of a man he roundly defeated in an election, but ignorantly approached the Tribunal, only to turn round and want to blackmail him”.
