RT. HON. PAUL GOWON HARUNA IJN DELEGATIONS EMBARKS ON COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TOUR ACROSS DEKINA LGA
As part of his continued commitment to grassroots development and community engagement, Rt. Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna Ijn, Member Representing Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, has embarked on a community engagement tour across Dekina Local Government Area.
The delegation, led by Hon. Achile Salihu , Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna, visited several communities within the constituency to deliver financial assistance and support various local initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of the people.
As part of Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna’s monthly salary and emoluments empowerment initiative, the sum of ₦2,000,000 was presented to Abocho Ward for the month of February. Notable personalities present to receive the money on behalf of Abocho Ward are HRH AJOFE JONAH OKAI IDRIS (ONU ABOCHO) AYIDU and other stakeholders of the ward. This initiative is designed to provide direct financial support to different wards within the constituency on a rotational basis, ensuring that grassroots communities benefit from IJN commitment to economic empowerment.
Responding to the needs of Ajiolo Akabe community, the delegation delivered financial support to facilitate the procurement and installation of solar-powered streetlights. This initiative was in direct response to the community stakeholders’ request for improved lighting to enhance security and socio-economic activities within the area.
The delegation also extended its outreach to Dekina Ward, where they visited the Association of Meat Sellers and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Dekina town.
The Meat Sellers Association received financial assistance to renovate their slaughter slab (abattoir), which is expected to boost hygiene standards, enhance their business operations, and contribute to the local economy.
The PCRC also received financial support to strengthen their efforts in maintaining peace and security within the community. This contribution will aid in crime prevention, fostering a harmonious relationship between the police and residents, and ensuring the safety of lives and property in Dekina Ward
Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN remains committed to people-oriented representation, ensuring that his constituents receive tangible benefits from his stewardship. Through initiatives like these, he continues to empower communities, support infrastructural development, and foster peace and security within Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency.
The community engagement tour was warmly received by stakeholders and residents, who expressed their appreciation for the Honorable Member’s dedication to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
