Reviving Decayed Infrastructure in OSS, only way to go – Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu


 

An old Student of Okene Secondary School, Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu says reviving the decayed infrastructures of the college is the only way to go, called on the old boys to pull their resources together to remodel their Alma meter.

Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu ,who is the husband of the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu gave the hint as the Chairman of Okene Secondary School old Students Association 2021 convention and the election of new officers to manage the Association’s affairs held in Lokoja the state capital.

Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu who is also the MD-Key-stone Bank Plc said the urgent assignment before the old Students is to mobilize resources to construct the parameters fencing of the school to prevent encroachment of the school”s land.

He also identified decayed infrastructures like blown off roof, dilapidated library, lack of laboratory, dearth of teachers, mobility problem, shortage of ICT facilities and un-habitable classes as a challenge.

Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu challenged the newly elected officials of the Association to be ready to do everything humanly possible to fast track total transformation of their Alma meter stating that Leadership come with responsibility and body that they are expected to shoulder

“During our time as Students we were mixed up with different tribes like the Igala, Okun, Tiv, Nupe and other ethnic nationalities students which facilitated national cohesion”, regretted that Okene Secondary School must be revived to the old Status quo.

Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu urged the newly elected officials to immediately convey a meeting with the Principal and management team of the college to obtain a first hand information of the urgent requirements of the school to enable them swing into action.

The Philanthropist appealed to Alma maters to contribute their quota to the development of the school to enable it surpass the achievements and legacies recorded by AAMCO , Balewa college and Bida Secondary School positing that it is their duty as entrusted representatives of the Association to turn around the fortunes of their old college.
