Rev. Yinka Yusuf Bids Farewell to Mother in Emotional Lokoja Funeral
Thousands of mourners converged on Lokoja to pay their last respects to the late mother of renowned Lagos-based cleric, Rev. Yinka Yusuf, who was laid to rest on Eid-el-Fitri day.
The Islamic burial rites took place at Lokoja’s Ungwar Kura Muslim burial ground, with Chief Imam Sheikh Aminu Shaban leading the funeral prayer.
Prominent Lokoja indigenes, friends, family, and associates attended the funeral, including Rev. Yusuf’s siblings, Taiye and Bayo Yusuf. Late Hajiya Lami Yusuf, 92, was the wife of the late Dr. Bashir Yusuf.
Describing his mother as “a mother for all,” Rev. Yinka Yusuf said, “We never saw her as only our mother, she was a mother to all. And that was what she exhibited when she was alive.”
