Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation Empowers Hundreds of Nigerians With Education, skill acquisition

Hundreds of Nigerians have been empowered with formal education and skill acquisition by a non-governmental organization, Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation (RHAGF).
The beneficiaries included women and young Nigerians.
The recent of the programmes, which was organized by RHAGF ran from May 20 and ended on 31, 2025 in a community in the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Abuja.
According to a statement on Monday by the NGO, the beneficiaries underwent a two-week skill acquisition which included sewing, tailoring, hair braiding, soap and cake baking.
National Coordinator of RHAGF, Dr. Regina Duru, speaking at the closing ceremony of the programme which also marked her 50th year anniversary, said the program was aimed at mitigating poverty and addressing social issues in the society.
She added that it was targeted to empower disadvantaged individuals—including women and children by providing them with training in various skills such as sewing, tailoring, hair braiding, and soap and cake production.
She expressed joy for the overwhelming support she received which made it possible for the NGO to empower the beneficiaries. She also appreciated people who supported the NGO financially and materially over the years. She said that the NGO has been supported by friends and her family and that it has consistently touched lives through its initiatives.
She said the NGO which she noted was established in 2009, had worked across various communities in the Federal Capital Territory for social and moral rejuvenation as well as skill development and empowerment.
Some of the dignitaries who witnessed the dual celebrations included: Executive Director of EL-Rakhun Foundation; Mr. Chaplain Johnson Chukwurah; Madam Sarah Odugbo from Education Secretariat, the Federal Capital Territory, Pharm. Mrs. Agwunobi C.; Manager of Master Eye Security Services Ltd, Abuja branch, Barr. Lucky Sat; Managing Director of Suitable Investment Nigeria Ltd, Elder Emeka Opara, and the Chief of Jabu Community, Dikko Danjuma.
Duru said: “What better way to celebrate my 50th birthday than to see 4, 5, and 7-year-old boys and girls braiding hair, sewing, and baking cakes? What RHAGF has done is build your capabilities and give you a platform to learn and acquire skills. That is what we have done.
“Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation is an organization built on hope—for the vulnerable and for the hopeless.”
“The NGO’s intervention is focused on mitigating some social issues like poverty, illiteracy, drug abuse, human trafficking, gender-based violence, and whatnot.”
She added: “We have worked in over 20 communities. Wherever we go, we leave our mark of impact. Today, in Jabu, our mark is what you have learned. I’m impressed that this training, which started two weeks ago on May 20 and ended on May 31, 2025, has yielded such results.
“You have been able to assert yourselves in different things. It is truly amazing.” She urged the trainees not to let their newly acquired skills go to waste. Don’t keep what you’ve learned to yourself. You cannot expect the government to knock on your door and ask you to learn something. The skills you’ve acquired here are things people pay a lot of money to learn, but you received them for free, thanks to RHAGF.
“Seven years ago, a 64-year-old unskilled woman was trained by RHAGF. Today, at 71, she has stepped down from the training. Her husband, children, grandchildren—and even her entire community—have benefitted from her. She is now the only person producing souvenirs in that community.”
