RE: Open Letter To Gov. Yahaya Bello/Chief of Staff

Tony Amego’s open letter addressed to the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Pharm Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu reported in the Nigerian Post dated January 13th, 2022 comes off as a letter with a malicious intent.

With respect to the Honourable’s service in the past administration, and maybe his desire for better governance, it would have been patriotic if a more dignified approach was embraced rather than this public outburst.

It is of chief importance to note that the Pharm Jamiu has gained more credibility across political divides because upon assumption of office, he travelled across the length and breath of the State to extend olive branch to key political actors in the State.

And as such, I can state, with a significant degree of confidence that if a path of honour was toed in your agitation, it would have yielded a better outcome.
I am very much aware that a similar letter was published a month earlier by you, indicating that His Excellency hates past political office holders.
Thankfully however, facts available in the public domain states otherwise as His Excellency is seen every now and then engaging loyal party members and former political office holders in one task or another. You see him at public functions excitedly interacting with all and sundry.

It bears emphasizing that, as a mark of honour, many of these people are being given opportunities to offer their services in the current administration.

But it does appear that Hon Amego is intent on holding on to a straw rather than the substantial issue of good governance which is being satisfactorily delivered across the State. The Chief of Staff stands committed to ensuring that his boss, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s administration’s commitment to transforming the lives of our people across Kogi State never loses its steam. Given his loyalty, Kogites of every tribe or religious persuasion are holding him up as a person of integrity. It is valuable to urge Mr Amego to rid himself of such malicious intents and embrace light of a brighter Kogi.
