RE-ILLEGAL AND PURPORTED ENDORSEMENT OF MR.GABRIEL ITANYI AS THE SOLE PDP CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE IN OFU LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAPTER’S CONGRESS 2021 BY AN ILLEGALLY CONSTITUTED ELDERS’ FORUM OF PDP
The attention of the day the *PDP ELDERS’ FORUM* Ofu local government chapter was drawn to a purported petition by some faceless self seeking and debased individuals parading themselves under the non-existential and unlawful name and guise of *Ofu PDP GRASSROOT MOBILIZERS*. We must state that such nomenclature and those behind it are unknown to the Local Government Party Secretariat and the Constitution of our great party and those behind it are enemies of the Party.They are obviously out to tarnish the image of our Party which has done largely well in the last general election under the leadership of Eng’r Gabriel Itanyi, amidst the most hostile political environment created by the unproductive but dangerous APC government in the state.
The said petition under reference is riddled with unsubstantiated facts and disjointed lies and these are obvious to every discerning mind as the intention is to cause chaos in our great party and give upper hand to the ruling party in the contests ahead,as they almost did during the last local government council election.If our party must move forward, Sir you must read within the lines and unravel the beautiful compromise targeting the foundation of our great party in Ofu.
For whatever it is worth,we wish to bring to your notice the following facts.
1- That the purpoted petition emanated from supposed body unknown to the local government party Secretariat and the Constitution óf our dear party.
2- That the said petition was not signed by any individuals that is to take responsibility for same rather,an individual just sat in a corner conscripted the names of our party members from various wards and Forged their signatures.Calls had been put across to many of those individuals and they all denied knowledge of same.Some of them are even members of the APC eg.Hon Isaiah Igba from Igo ward and several others. A petition to security agencies is underway to investigate the circumstances surrounding the forgery.
3- That Ofu PDP under the leadership of Eng’r Gabriel Itanyi, for the first in 17yrs delivered Ofu for our dear party in the last Governorship election despite the hostility and shenanigans of the ruling party -the APC.
That the authors of the petition under reference are suspected to have almost frustrated our party leadership in Ofu from fielding candidate for Chairmanship during the last local government election,it took the dexterity of the party Chairman – Eng’r Gabriel Itanyi,his Excos and stakeholders to beat the time set by KOSIEC and field ba candidate against all odds.
That the indictment of the Elders Forum by the faceless petitioners as regards donations from party faithfuls for the last local government council election shows that these elements are oblivious of the internal running of our dear party.Let it be made clear here that those donations were never made to the Elders Forum but to the candidates themselves.
6- That the endorsement of Eng’r Gabriel Itanyi as the sole Chairmanship aspirants for the forthcoming local Government Area Congress is borne out of his unprecedented and progressive performance and to avoid rancorous contest that the ruling party could take advantage.
7- That the leadership of our great party in Ofu local Government has been able to foster more unity amongst party faithfuls much more than ever before and had always giving room to members of other political parties who may wish to come under the umbrella.Such leadership qualities can never be qualified by any progressive as romancing with the opposition.
*ADVICE*
We demand strongly that the source of the petition be investigated thoroughly by checking the legitimacy of the body and calls be put across to the individuals that purportedly signed same to verify the authenticity.
Furthermore, the leadership of our great party must be weary of betrayers and sheep in a wolf clothing who in connivance with the ruling party had often taken steps to undermine the efforts of genuine party men who are poised to returning our dear party to power.
