Ramadan: Why We Arrested 11 Youths For Not Fasting – Hisbah

The Kano state Hisbah Corps, has explained why it arrested some youths for eating at noon which indicated that they are not fasting.

Thenigerianpost gathered that those arrested included 3 men and 8 women.

While speaking to BBC Hausa, Chairman of the Board, Dr. Aliyu Musa Kibiya said that they were investigating those who were not fasting to find out their motives.

According to him, fasting is obligatory for every healthy adult Muslim during the month of Ramadan, unless there is a strong reason or excuse for menstruating women or the elderly who do not tolerate hunger.

This medium learnt that Hisbah conducts similar arrests in Kano city and local government areas every year.
