QS AMINU ABUBAKAR SULEIMAN DECLARES FOR KOGI EAST SENATORIAL SEAT, OUTLINES ELECTRICITY-DRIVEN AND HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AGENDA
Lokoja, Kogi State — QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman has officially declared his intention to contest for the Kogi East Senatorial seat in a well-attended political gathering held in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
The declaration attracted a wide range of political stakeholders, community leaders, and professionals from across Kogi State, reflecting growing political interest in the Kogi East senatorial race.
Those present at the occasion included Hon. Positive Ihiabe, former member of the House of Representatives; Engr. Musa Wada, former PDP governorship aspirant in Kogi State; Hon. Hassan Abubakar; Chief Rufai Yahaya; Dr. Muhammed Shaibu Tetes; Ismaila Musa; Pat Abraham; Abdullahi Adukwu Ojodale; Ahmed Attach; Mr. Ohiemi Zekeri; Austin Okai; alongside several other stakeholders.
In his address, QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman placed strong emphasis on electricity as the foundation of his development blueprint, noting that his professional expertise in the power and energy sector, both within and outside Nigeria, positions him to drive sustainable energy solutions for Kogi East.
He explained that stable electricity remains the backbone of industrialization, stressing that no meaningful economic transformation can occur without reliable power supply. According to him, electrification of communities will open up opportunities for small and medium enterprises, local industries, and job creation.
Beyond electricity, the aspirant also outlined broader development priorities aligned with human capital and economic transformation goals. These include improved access to quality education, strengthened healthcare delivery systems, youth empowerment, and support for small and medium enterprises as drivers of grassroots economic growth.
He emphasized that education remains central to breaking cycles of poverty, while quality healthcare is essential for a productive population. He further noted that SME development will serve as a catalyst for economic inclusion, innovation, and sustainable livelihoods across communities in Kogi East.
QS Suleiman described his vision as a “Millennium Development-Oriented Agenda,” aimed at integrating infrastructure, social services, and economic empowerment into a single development framework that prioritizes people-centered growth.
According to him, “Electricity, education, healthcare, and enterprise development are interconnected. Once we get these fundamentals right, every community in Kogi East can become productive, self-sustaining, and industrially viable.”
The event concluded with remarks from stakeholders who described the declaration as forward-looking and development-focused, as political consultations continue ahead of the next electoral cycle.
