Pure Water Price to be Slashed Downward, As Kogi Water Resources Commissioner Meets Association of Table Water Producers


 

Kogi State Commissioner, Ministry of Water Resources Hon. (Dr.) Abdulmumin Danga interfaced with Association of table Water Producers Kogi State Chapter, with the Association agreeing to slash downward the price of Pure Water.

The Chairman of the Association Mr. Joseph Essenyi appreciated the Hon. Commissioner for granting them audience, said the price increase was occasion by increase in prices of cost of production materials.

After series of questions from the Hon. Commissioner on why the sudden changes and hike in price of the table Water, the Chairman of the Association enumerated the challenges they’re facing which includes increase in the prices of their materials.

Hon. Danga in his address appreciated them for highlighting various challenges they’re facing in this business, emphasized that the hike in the price of table or sachet water is causing more damages to the populace than what the Water is meant to serve.

He said while not neglecting the fact that the prices of their materials and machines are higher than what they used to buy due to the exchange of dollars to Naira and he therefore, the Commissioner enjoined them to look Critically into their Price that’ll be moderate to offer by the populace.

The Chairman of the Association appreciate the Hon. Commissioner once again for finding them worthy, promised to summon his Executives for a downward review of the price including the Price sold by retailers that are the major distributors to the Consumers.

Present at the meeting with the Hon. Commissioner is Engr. Kayode Ayodele Director of Water, Ministry of Water Resources, Ehiayelsan Richard Chairman, State taskforce, Mr. Audu Ali Financial Secretary, Muhammed Baba Zonal Coordinator and Momoh O. Moses State PRO.
