With the current visionary academic programmes, TETFUND subvention and state of the art infrastructural facilities on ground at the present KOGI STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL), KABBA, the site is a ready ground for the smooth take off of the proposed OKUN UNIVERSITY through the magnanimity of His Excellency.
The college currently boasts of a modern Hi-Tech 250 sitting capacity with additional 25 back up ALHAJA RASHIDAT YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO CBT CENTRE, making it one of the biggest in Kogi State.
Further, the School of Technical Education that produced a student that invented various survey and security drones, and another a tricycle in the college had the privileges of a smooth working conditions and facilities that inspired the exponential feats. Again, the Home Economics Department of the college from findings presently have the vision of a BREAD BAKERY, which would obviously boost the IGR.
Morever, the present College Provost, Dr (Mrs) Victoria Olusola Jagboro is working round the clock and seamlessly too, to ensure more structures are completed as the opportunity avails itself in a record time.
It is on record today that the present CONFLUENCE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (CUSTECH), OSARA, established by His Excellency within a short time frame of three years is proving a worthy project, and a round peg in a round hole.
The present overflow of students’ enrolment and excellent teaching services within the university community would prove doubters wrong. Obviously, one of the factors responsible is the take off of the institution from an existing facilities. A walk to CUSTECH that hosted her third matriculation of about 700 undergraduates few days ago would shock so many.
My prayer therefore, is for His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and the highly distinguished members of the steering committee to give due consideration to the aforesaid, and kind approval of the present KOGI STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL), KABBA with adequate facilities for a smooth take off as permanent site for the establishment of the proposed OKUN UNIVERSITY. The right time for entire Okun to experience this reality that have long eluded them is now.
