The Nigeria National Volunteer service has delved into the activities and the management of the Federal University Lokoja, led by Prof Olayemi Akinwumi and his able team has discovered that the University administration under the able leadership of Prof Akinwumi is optimally doing great, no wonder the Organization has no reason than to bestow on him an award of uncommon leadership and a Vote Confidence/Certificate of Credence on the 14th March, 2022.
NNVS crew after due research and keen investigation into the leadership of the University discovered that what has driven Prof Olayemi was his resolve to make the University better than he met it, to achieve this laudable dream, there must be commitment, resilience, doggedness and focus.
In demonstrating competence capacity and Character, he established the College of Medicine and Engineering,
In his wisdom, he also discovered that a peaceful environment is a panacea for development, his commitment to staff welfare and student union government was top most in his style of his administration, no wonder the accelerated development in a short while is amazing.
It’s also worthy of note, the backwardness of the University before his assumption but today, the university is one of the best in the North central and Nigeria at large.
The Vice Chancellor has reiterated his desire to succeed especially as an indigene of Kogi State.
This desire and commitment has empowered him spiritually and physically to withstand all challenges for those who believes in his vision or not, but the mandate to succeed is sacrosanct.
He has appealed to all strata of department of the University to bear with his shortcoming and weakness as the leader of the University administration today, solicited for total cooperation of all to accomplish the desire to move the university to the next level of development.
Apart from the boldness to move the School to thepermanent site at Felele, he has attracted sympathy of individuals through personal relationship to upgrade the university to an enviable position.
The Nigeria National Volunteer service is domiciled in the office of Secretary to Government of Federation and in the office of Secretary to Kogi State Government, we are using this opportunity to Congratulate the workaholic Vice-Chancellor Prof Olayemi Akinwumi and all management team including the Students Union Government to cooperate with the Vice-Chancellor to succeed together because when the success story of the University will be written for posterity, all your names will be in gold, Congratulations.
