Problems affecting Local Government will soon be over – NULGE National President

The National President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Comr. Ambali Olatunji Akin has expressed optimism that the problems affecting local government administration will one day come to an end.

 

The National President expressed the optimism against the backdrop of the local government autonomy bill before the State Assemblies.

The National President said thus far, four states; Abia, Kogi, Edo and Katsina houses of Assembly have passed the bill, expressed optimism that other states would follow suit.

The National President of NULGE gave the assurances at the 7th State Quadrennial Delegates Confrence 2022 of the Union held in Lokoja.

The Conference saw to the election of new State Executive Members led by Comr. Tade Adeyemi to pilot the affairs of the Union beginning from 29th July, 2022, held at Lokoja Club.

 

 

The NULGE conference reelected Comr. Tade Ebenezer Adeyemi as President and twelve others to pilot the affairs of the Union.

 

Other members elected in the new Executives include: Lasisi Aminu as Deputy State President, Mohd Mariam Kaka, State Chairperson Women Committee; Okoliko Musa as Treasurer amongst others.

The National President assured that with the bill, the problems affecting local government administration and salaries, would soon be a thing of the past, praised NULGE members in the State for their resilience.

The National President commended the NULGE members in Kogi State for their patience and understanding in the face of current travails, says the National Union is aware of the sufferings faced by Kogi workers, praised them for their endurance and perseverance.

Speaking after the election, Comr. Tade Adeyemi promised to meet with the yearnings and aspirations of Local Government workers, described the opportunity to serve another term as one that would not be taken for granted.

The State NULGE President urged the local government workers to look forward to the Local Government Autonomy with high hopes and aspirations, assured that if made possible, the glory of the Local Government workers would return.

Comr. Tade used the medium to express his appreciation to the workers at the Local Government levels for reposing confidence in him, promised to justify the mandate by making the welfare of the workers his priority.

He called on the newly constituted Executives to see their emergence as a call to service, duty and the greater good of the workers, expressed optimism that with the calibre of person’s in the team, the workers should expect a new lease of life.

The new Executives elected that would pilot the affairs of the Union for another four years would be inaugurated on 29th July, 2022.
