PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU IS INVESTING IN MINDS, SECURING THE FUTURE AND BUILDING NIGERIA’S GREATEST NATIONAL ASSET

By Musa Asiru Bakare
A nation may possess abundant oil, minerals, and fertile land yet remain underdeveloped. No nation that consistently invests in the education of its people remains permanently behind.
History teaches that the greatest wealth of any country is not buried beneath its soil but cultivated in the minds of its citizens.
This enduring philosophy is reflected in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While some are preoccupied with short term politics, the Tinubu administration is laying long term foundations for national development.
The Federal Government’s investment of over ₦1 trillion in tertiary education within two years is more than government spending; it is a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future through knowledge, innovation, research, and human capital.
History shows that great nations are built on strong institutions, and universities are the factories where future leaders, scientists, engineers, doctors, and entrepreneurs are produced.
A nation that neglects its universities mortgages its future, while one that strengthens them secures generations yet unborn.
The investments speak for themselves: ₦250 billion for student hostels, over ₦150 billion for rehabilitating academic facilities, ₦130 billion for medical schools, ₦52 billion for modern medical equipment, nearly ₦30 billion for medical simulation laboratories, and about ₦110 billion for engineering workshops and equipment.
These are deliberate investments aimed at improving learning conditions, expanding access, strengthening research, and equipping students with industry relevant skills.
The difference between transactional politics and transformational leadership is simple: transactional politics seeks applause today; transformational leadership builds tomorrow.
President Tinubu has chosen the path of building tomorrow.
Education remains the greatest equalizer and the strongest foundation for national prosperity. Every classroom improved, every laboratory equipped, and every workshop modernized strengthens Nigeria’s capacity to compete globally and unlock the potential of its youthful population.
As Nigerians approach the 2027 elections, the record of every administration will be judged not only by promises but by lasting investments.
Governments are remembered for the institutions they strengthen and the opportunities they create.
President Tinubu’s investment in tertiary education demonstrates a commitment to building Nigeria’s greatest national asset, its people.
For a nation that builds its universities builds its future, and a nation that empowers its students empowers its destiny.
