POWA Promises to Prioritize Education, Health, Welfare of Police Wives, Children


 

 

The President, Police Officers Wife Association (POWA), Hajiya Hajara Alkali Baba has promised to give adequate attention to the Education, Health, Welfare amongst other things that concerns wives’ and children of the Officers of the Nigerian Police Force.

Hajiya Hajara made the promise during her visit to the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dauda at the State Police Headquarters, Lokoja.

She said Police men having been doing their best at securing the lives of Nigerians, saying there was need for their families to be encouraged.

“Kogi State happens to be the tenth State I visited since I came on board and my intention is to see for myself, how the the families of our police men are doing

“The police life matters a lot, I am here to encourage our women to seat tight, train our children, love our neighbors and assist our husband in anyway we can

“Part of my 20 point agenda is giving priority to the Education, Health and Welfare of Police Wives’ and children, our husbands are paying a supreme price so, their families must not be abandoned

“They are fighting gallantly to secure the lives of others, they are giving their all including their lives, so their wives and children should be encouraged, this is what I stand for”

While calling on Nigerians to be more security conscious at all times, the Wife of the Inspector General of Police charged the Officers to remain dutiful.

“Security is everybody’s business and all hands must be on deck, give the necessary support to our men and Officers of the Nigerian Police Force in Kogi State to enable them perform their duties effectively”

She enjoined the Kogi State Police Commissioner to revive activities of POWA in the State, stressing that it will go a long way at rekindling hope in the heart of the wives of the Officers.

On his part, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dauda, appreciated the POWA President for the visit, describing her as a woman of great substance.

CP Dauda enjoined the wives of Police Officers to come together as one, saying such will serve as morale boost, foster unity and lead to the success of the Officers.

Highlight of the visit was a presentation of an Award of outstanding performance on the State Police Commissioner by the POWA President.
