Police Swing Into Action to rescue kidnap Kogi State University Lecturer


 

.. as kidnappers demand N20Million

The Kogi State Police Command says it has swang into action to rescue the abducted lecturer with the Kogi State University, Anyigba Prof. John Alabi has been kidnapped.

Prof. Alabi was kidnapped on Monday at about 6PM by unknown gunmen when he was about entering his apartment in Anyigba.

Alabi is the current Dean of Faculty Of Management Sciences In Kogi State University.

It was gathered that the kidnappers who were fully armed
came with a Mercedes benz car and whisked their victim away to an unknown destination.

A family source who never wanted his name to be mentioned because he was not authorized to speak to journalist explained that the abductors have contacted the family and the management of Kogi State University.

The source said they called the wife of Dr Alabi and demanded for N20Million.

” The kidnappers ambushed Prof. Alabi with a Mercedez benz car when he was about entering his resident. They wanted to take him away with his car, but due to the bad portion where they forced him to park his car, they could not. The car was stalked. That was why they forced him into their own car.

“When they called the Wife of Dr Alabi, they told her that her husband is with them. And if she wants to see her husband alive, the family should pay the sum of N20Million. Immediately, the wife started crying because the family can’t afford such amount of money” the source said.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident said the command is not leaving any stone unturned in rescuing the Lecturer.
