Police Begins Investigation to Unravel Mysterious Circumstances Leading to death of NTA staff in Kogi


 

The Kogi State Police Command says it has begun investigation to unravel circumstances leading to the death of a staff of the Nigeria Television Authority, (NTA).

The Staff identified as Chukwu Odiahu was killed in Okene, Kogi State by unknown individuals.

It was gathered that late Odiahu who is under the engineering department of the NTA boaster station in Okene according to the Police Public Relationship Officer was found dead along Okene Ogori Magong road on Wednesday.

Although the cause of the death of late Odiahu is yet to be known according to the PPRO, DSP William Aya, as at the time of filing this report, it was however gathered that all the staff on duty have been arrested and are currently under interrogation at the Divisional Office of the Nigeria Police Force in Okene.

A staff of NTA in Okene who never wanted his named mentioned confirmed the incident said “It very unfortunate we all woke up this morning to see the death of one of our colleague working in the engineering department alledgedly stoned to death.

” When we closed transmission around 10PM on Tuesday, he left the office premises. Unfortunately this morning, (Wednesday), we discovered his corpse that he was killed with stones by some persons who we do not know.

“All the staffs on duty have been arrested because they are prime suspects. The incident has been reported to the Police for investigation. Odiahu is a gentle man who is committed to his duty. He died a horrible death”.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) DSP William Ovye Aya who confirmed the incident said the police has commenced investigation with the view to determine the cause of his death, arrest and bring the perpetrators to book.
