The Executive Chairman Of Yagba West Local Government Of Kogi State, Hon. Pius Gbemisola Kolawole has been commended by the people of Yagba West for his prompt responses to the case of a 12- year old boy who was alleged to have suffered serious maltreatment, abuse in the hands of a couple who reside in Egbe, Kogi State.
Jacob Oluyemi, a resident of Egbe to wn who described the action of Pius Kolawole as ‘showing capacity for leadership’ expressed his appreciation to the council boss for his quick action taken to apprehend the couple who was accused of using hot pressing iron on a little boy.
It was reported on Saturday 10th March, 2021, by one Aaron Fikayomi in her Facebook page that a 12-year old boy sustained serious injuries inflicted on him by a couple suspected to be the boy’s guardians.
However, immediately the information regarding the incident filtered into the ears of the capacity chairman, Chief Pius Kolawole vowed to bring the perpetrators of that dastardly act to justice.
He ordered the combined security agents in Yagba West to launched a manhunt for the suspected couple to be apprehended. His proactiveness paid off with the arrest of the suspects who has since been in the custody of the security agent waiting to be prosecuted.
The Council Chairman who condemn the abuse of the child described the action of the couples as evil, says it is wickedness against humanity.
Recall, that Chief Pius Kolawole had on several occasions expressed his avowed commitment to ensuring safety of lives and property of all citizens and residents of Yagba West, irrespective of age, tribe, religion or language.
The Executive chairman of Yagba West who warned parents and guardians against any form of child abuses assures the general public that his administration will ensure full implementation of Child’s Right Laws as enshrines in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
