The Secretary General of Assocation of Local Government of Nigeria(ALGON) and a philanthropist,Hon. Abubakar Muhammad, a.k.a Bukky, has paid surgical bills of of Malam Garba Garus Almana, worth Five Hundred Thousand Naira(₦500,000)only.
According to report the patient was stranded looking on to God when Abubakar was said to have asked about his old friend when him visited Lokoja for eidil-Maulud break.
Narrating the story, Hamza Uba Sadi said” We were together with Hon. Muhammed Abukakar (Bukky) when he visited Lokoja for eidil-Maulud celebrations, he asked of the whereabout of Garba who he said it has been long time that he saw him, i disclosed to him that he has been sick and need surgical operation,he immediately directed me to take the patient to hospital in Lokoja, since then he has been settling all the drugs bills, and other expenses worth ₦200,000.
He didn’t only paid the drugs bills, Abubakar also took the responsibilities of feeding the patient’s families while on admission,today, he has paid the sum of ₦5000,000 surgical bill” Hamza said
Speaking with our reporter,Hon. Abubakar, who aspired to represent Lokoja 1 constituency at Kogi state House of Assembly in 2019 election said
“I am moved by passion and concern for the plight of these our brothers and sisters and I am reminded that we are expected to be our brothers’ keepers, hence this gesture,’’ he said
Dr Abdulkareem Ibrahim , thanked Abubakar for the gesture and appealed to others well spirited individuals from the area to emulate hon. Abubakar Muhammed, who he described as a young and selfless leader with large heart.
