The Publisher of Bravins Magazine and President of Edo Legacy Foundation Inc,Engr. Pedro Omo-Aghahowo yesterday in Benin, Edo State
said,those aspiring for leadership position in Nigeria should be people with vision and proven integrity,who know what they intend to achieve in office.
Omo-Aghahowa made the disclosure at the 18th Edition of Prestigious Niger-Delta Peace Ambassador Awards ceremony and unveiling of 500,000 notebooks to schools across the Niger Delta.
According to him, the aim of the award is to showcase outstanding individuals in the Niger-Delta and to promote the ideals of patriotism,unity, love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
“The Edo Legacy Foundation Inc. have so clearly chosen to lead
this campaign for propagating and promoting our foundation, culture, ldentity and heritage.This project aims to showcase outstanding individuals in Niger Delta and Nigeria at large who exemplifies the best attributes of our great
country and promote the ideals of patriotism,
unity, love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
“It will provide young people the opportunity to
emulate exemplary citizenship role models and
encourage excellence in career and individual
endeavours.Today marks a triumph for the country and an occasion to celebrate her cultural heritage, norms and cherish her pride.
“Each one of us and, indeed all those who aspire to
national leadership must be people with their own visions, views and styles to the business of reforming our country,Nigeria.”
He said the 18th Edition of the award beamed it’s spotlight on men
and women in Niger Delta who are not afraid to
take chances and who have made their marks in
Technology, Financial Services, Sciences,
Healthcare, Politics, Higher Education , Real Estate, Law,
Advertising, among others.
Reacting,one of the awardee,Jude Chuwkuwinke, Chairman Aniocha Local Government Area of Delta State, represented by Prince Emerodi Okonjo, said the award tells that whatever anyone is doing, people around are watching and that it also means his principal is doing very well. He maintained that when the invitation came,the Chairman requested that the organization be scrutinized ,which they did and found out the organization is real . “This award is a timely award for my Chairman, who is a man of peace.The award tells that whatever anyone is doing, people around are watching him, also that my principal is doing very well.
