PDP’s FCT Win Signals Strong 2027 Showdown – Hon Prince Oluwakayode Emmanuel

PDP’s FCT Win Signals Strong 2027 Showdown – Hon Prince Oluwakayode Emmanuel

The just concluded Area Council elections across the six municipal areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have once again reaffirmed the enduring strength and grassroots dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
And this has demonstrated clearly the capacity of His Excellency Nyesom Wike to deliver on his promise and not a man a joke with.

I want to congratulate PDP candidate Hon Mohammed Kasim of Gwagwalada Area Council who was declared winner, defeating the APC candidate with a total of 22,165 votes to 17,788 votes. Clearly demonstrating that despite recent political realignments and high-profile defections, the party remains the strongest and most formidable opposition force in Nigeria.

In recent times, prominent political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, El-Rufai, David Mark, Rotimi Ameachi, Dino Melaye and Peter Obi have found political alignment within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

However, the outcome of the FCT elections has shown that electoral strength is not built on personalities alone, but on structure, legacy, grassroots mobilization, and the unwavering loyalty of the people.

The results from the six Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory send a clear message ahead of the forthcoming presidential race: the ADC’s anticipated surge may not translate into substantial nationwide victories.

The PDP’s performance, in contrast, reinforces its position as the only truly organized and nationally entrenched opposition platform capable of mounting a credible challenge.

This election is not just a local contest, it is a political barometer. It confirms that the PDP structure remains intact, resilient, and deeply rooted in the communities. While others may rely on momentum built around social media where there’s no polling unit, the PDP continues to rely on institutional strength and collective vision.

We commend our candidates, party faithful, and the resilient voters of the FCT who have once again placed their trust in the PDP. As we move forward, this victory serves as motivation to consolidate our structures nationwide and prepare for greater triumphs ahead.

The message is clear:
The PDP remains strong.
The PDP remains relevant.
The PDP remains the people’s party.

Signed:
Hon Prince Oluwakayode Emmanuel Eseyin
PDP Stakeholder
Kogi state.
