PDP: Youth group endorse Dr. Philips Salawu for PDP national chairmanship

 


On the eve of the much-anticipated PDP NEC meeting scheduled for April 18, 2024; a group of North Central youths under the banner of Youths Ambassadors of Nigeria, led by Dr. Kingsley Solomon from Plateau State; met and endorsed Dr. Philips Salawu, a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, for position of national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja said “the choice of Dr. Philips Salawu is one we arrived at after looking at all the indices at play, after considering where PDP used to be, where PDP is now and where PDP needs to be.”

Th group which is comprised of members from FCT and other States of the country, said it is just and fair for the North Central zone to be allowed to complete its tenure.

“Dr. Philips Salawu has the capacity and the passion and the discipline to deliver on the job. By virtue of where he comes from which is the North Central zone of the country, he is the right replacement for Dr. Iyorchia Ayu,” the group further said.

“We trust that tomorrow, the NEC of the PDP will do the right thing and return the PDP national chairmanship seat back to North Central where it rightly belongs for Dr. Philips Salawu to emerge already to take the reins of duty and to begin to lead PDP back to the path to glory,” the group further add.
