The attention of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ofu Local Government Area has been drawn to a report by group known as Kogi East Concerned Citizens to the effect that the attack on PDP office at Ugwolawo and other stakeholders was masterminded by a serving House of Representatives member and Odu Akowe who is a strong stalwart of the party.
it is pertinent to note that the said Odu Akowe, a PDP faithful and a complete gentle man with impeccable character could not have descended so low to involve himself in such nefarious act.
To put the record straight, it is instructive to note that the said Akowe led the official inauguration of the present PDP office at Ugwolawo and had remained consistent with the party, it is therefore impossible for him to destroy his own house.
The party is however, not amazed by the allegation against his personality viewing from the obvious sign of defeat facing the APC in the coming elections.
We hereby strongly condemn the act by thugs or hoodlums who have taken laws into their hands and hereby call on security agencies to fish out those behind the destruction of property at Ugwolawo,
At a time like this, when peace should be the watchword, no one should constitute as a cog in the wheel of progress. This is why we appeal to security agents to be neutral and discharge their duties without fear or favour.
While we await the result of their investigation, we call on all party members and stakeholders to remain peaceful, law abiding in order to win in this struggle.
The faceless group should be disregarded since no one is confident to append name and signature as obtainable in any civilized society.
We also sympathize with our own, Mr Odu Akowe whose name is being dragged into the mud for no just cause.
The PDP in Ofu Local Government Area will continue to hold him in high esteem and will never do otherwise.
