In a bid to foster collaborative working relationship, earlier today, the Project Coordinator, Kogi State ACReSAL, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Environment, Dr. Jubril Saidu Alhaji.
Present at the briefing were the briefing the Director, Environment, Hajia Ramatu Omale and the Director, Administration in the Ministry, Mr Patrick Hussein.
The Project Coordinator used the occasion of the visit to welcome the Permanent Secretary, who automatically doubles as Chairman, State Technical Committee of the ACReSAL Project, to the Ministry; she formerly informed the PS of his role as the Chairman, ACReSAL Project STC by virtue of his appointment as PS, Ministry of Environment.
She equally touched on the roles of the STC, which include rendering technical support to the SPMU, among other important roles, as well as shed light on some pertinent aspects of the Project Development Objective (PDO), which are in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s development agenda, some of which are, the UPLIFTING OF ABOUT 100 MILLION NIGERIANS OUT OF POVERTY, AS WELL AS THE RESTORATION OF 4 MILLION HECTARES OF DEGRADED LAND, OUT OF WHICH ACReSAL HAS THE MANDATE OF DELIVERING ON 1 MILLION HECTARES… Isn’t this a collaborative effort, worthy of commendation?
The Project Coordinator also took time to take the PS and his team through the Cleared Work Plan, which is expected to be implemented in the first 18 Months of the ACReSAL Project; she therefore solicited the support of the PS towards the success of the ACReSAL Project.
Responding, the PS assured of his utmost support to the SPMU, whilst assuring the PC that they are “partners in progress”. He promised to study the Project Implementation Manual (PIM) to better familiarise himself on the role of the Ministry in relation to the Project.
The Director, Environment, assured the PS that going by previous working relationship with the Project Coordinator, she was sure they (the Ministry) will enjoy the same seamless working relationship with the PC in the new ACReSAL Project.
