PAAU Vice-Chancellor Emphasizes Synergy and Research Collaboration During Faculty of Agriculture Visit
The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to staff welfare, infrastructural development, and academic advancement during a visit to the Faculty of Agriculture on February 18, 2026.
Prof. Usman, accompanied by senior management officials, received a warm welcome from Faculty Dean, Professor A.E. Agahiu, who expressed appreciation for the visit and highlighted challenges facing the Faculty, including staffing shortages and infrastructure deficits.
In response, Prof. Usman described the Faculty of Agriculture as a strategic academic unit, citing its growth since establishment in 2000. He emphasized the importance of networking and interdisciplinary research collaboration to attract grants and enhance global relevance.
The Vice-Chancellor assured staff of his dedication to improving welfare and infrastructure, stressing that leadership is temporary and posterity judges service impact. He called for stronger synergy among academic units and urged stakeholders to prioritize retaining top academic talent.
Prof. Usman also disclosed plans to establish institutional publishing partnerships and a robust alumni association, while warning against parallel groups undermining the institution’s integrity. He assured enhanced campus security and emphasized practical, solution-driven agricultural education.
The visit concluded with a call for mentorship to sustain academic excellence and institutional values, as Prof. Usman and his team engaged with Faculty members and toured facilities.
