Ownership Realty Limited has concluded plans to embark on mass housing development scheme across the length and breadth of the country next year

The Managing director of the Ibadan based real estate company, Akeem Olayinka-Martins who disclosed this in an interview said that the initiative was borne out of the desire to contribute it’s quota in solving shortage of decent accommodations in the country

“We want to diversify from real Estate retail practice to mass Housing & infrastructural Development.
We want to contribute our quota in solving shortage of decent accommodation” Olayinka-Martins told our correspondent.

He disclosed that the new housing
development scheme would focus primarily on rural development against the current urban concentration. With good road network, people can live in the rural communities and still access their place of work on daily basis rather than urban concentration.

Olayinka-Martins explained that the scheme would also target low and medium income earners who will have the opportunity of paying instalmementally and at affordable prices spread over a specific period.

“We have secured large expanse of land in Oyo and Ogun states with pilot scheme commencing next year in Ibadan, Oyo state.” He said.

“Our aim is to discourage rural/urban drift by providing affordable and conducive homes in the rural areas that would attract low and middle class income earners” he added further.

While appreciating the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde for his giant strides in the area of infrastructural development, he also commended him on the rural- urban integration initiative in the state, noting that the enforcement of the multi campus system of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, would bring the rural communities in the state to the brink of massive development in due course.
