OVER 700 BECOME PEACE AMBASSADORS, OTHERS CERTIFIED FORENSICS AS ADVANCE PEACE AND RECONCILIATION CENTRE AND CHARTERED FORENSIC INSTITUTE HOLDS INDUCTIONS.
In her unwavering Commitments and determination towards ensuring a Peaceful and harmonious Coexistence in our various Communities, a World devoid of Crisis and War, and also a Society where the Security of lives and Properties are guaranteed, the Advanced Peace And Reconciliation Center and the Chartered Forensic Institute has inducted over 700 individuals as United Nations Peace Ambassadors and Certified forensic respectively.
The Ceremony which Could be best described as the Mother of all inductions and investiture,was held at the Banquet hall of the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, Saturday 21st September,2024, and inductees were drawn from all walks of live, majorly from the Nation’s Paramilitary organizations.
According to the Director General of the forensic and Security Studies Nigeria, who also doubles as the Chairman, Advance Peace and Reconciliation Centre Nigeria, Dr.(Amb) Okocha Morgan, said the Conferment of the United Nations Peace Ambassadors and justice of peace to the inductees was underscored by the Compelling need and demand for a peaceful and War free world, Considering the Crises going on in Some parts of the World, the Russia- Ukraine war, the Israel- Palestine War in Gaza and Some Countries in the Africa Sub region that has been in Crises for quite some times including some parts of Nigeria where there was ethnic and religious Crisis he stressed.
Commenting on some awardees that were also inducted as Certify Forensic,Dr. Morgan pointed out that Forensic is a New trend in the field of investigation and a development in the advancement of investigation. He further emphasized the need for security personnel to equip themselves with forensic knowledge and Skills for detection of crime and fraud, he Commended the Chairman Police Service Commission for the recognition he accorded the institute and for also recommending forensic training for the personnel of the Nigerian police.
The Chairman Police Service Commission,DIG Hashimu Argugu in his Goodwill message Commended the institute for its Contributions in building the Capacity of security personnel in the Country which has enabled them over the years to detects Criminals , he further said that the Ministry of police affairs will partner the institute for training of it Personnel in forensic investigation.even as he said that forensic Certification will henceforth be a prerequisite for Personnel advancement and promotion in the Service.
Responding to question from journalists on how he was able to bring together a large numbers of inductees who are high ranking Officers in their respective Organizations , D.G Okocha Morgan said, integrity and Professionalism, doing things within the ambit of the law in addition to Compliance to international best Practice has always been their guilding principle and watchword, noting that the public will definitely identify with any Organization that has not deviated from the track.
The Director General further urged the newly inductees to remain Steadfast and Committed to the ethos of the Profession for a Crime free society.
