I, Otunba Adeniyi Olayemi, join the people of Ikoyi community and all well-meaning citizens of Ijumu Local Government Area to express deep gratitude to our gallant security forces for their swift action that foiled a planned bandit attack in Ikoyi community.
Reports reaching me confirm that, through timely intelligence and courageous intervention, officers of the Nigerian Army, Police, and local vigilante groups intercepted the attackers before they could harm lives or destroy property. This decisive action has once again proven that our security personnel remain the first line of defense for peace and safety in Kogi West and beyond.
I salute the bravery, professionalism, and sacrifice of every officer involved. Your commitment at a time when banditry threatens rural communities deserves public recognition and encouragement. To the residents of Ikoyi, I urge you to stay vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies. Security is a collective responsibility.
As a community builder, I remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen grassroots security, youth engagement, and peacebuilding across Ijumu LGA. I will also be engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure victims of fear and displacement from this incident receive the necessary support.
