Your Execllency,
The need to write you this letter is as valid as the sky exist over the earth because it concerns the peaceful co – existence of a race of over 3.5million peace loving people of the great Igala Kingdom.
It is no secret the value, importance and sacredness attached to the throne of the Attah Igala to the Igala people.
The Attah is not just a title but also seen as a Priest of this great Nation.
The journey of our late Attah Igala to the land of our ancestors for a hunting expedition created a vacuum which further needs no delay.
Recall the former Attah Igala’s His Eminence Chief Michael Ameh Oboni II, closeness to your administration and as such the need to honour him by allowing due process and due diligence is followed to the later for his replacement.
Your Excellency, to our dismay the action of the acting Chairman of the Igala Area Traditional Council negates all laid down procedures as enshrined in the extant laws.
This action of his is capable of causing serious crisis which will degenerate into full blown tussle such that will disrupt the peaceful coexistence and enabling environment your Adminstration has without iota of doubt laboured vigorously to achieve in the past years.
The extant laws empowers the Igalamela kingmakers headed by the Etemahi of Igalamela to receive nomination from the ruling house whose turn it is to sit on the throne, after careful selection and nomination by the ruling house whose turn it is to produce the next Attah then forward to the Achadu Attah Igala for onward transmission to the Igala Area Traditional Council then to the Kogi State Council of Chiefs for ratification and approval by the Office of the Executive Governor.
This whole process was duly followed until the demise of the late Achadu.
However contrary position as to the process and procedures of nomination and recommendation of a candidate to the stool of Attah of Igala by HRH Usman Obaje the Acting Chairman of Igala Area Traditional Council jettisoned entirely the religious process of nominating and selecting the Attah Igala.
We therefore want to demand answers to the following;
A. Where does the purported committee inugurated by HRH Usman Obaje derived it powers of nomination and recommendation into the stool of Attah
B. Which laws empowers HRH Usman Obaje to do what he did contrary to the position of the laws which empowers only the Igalamela Kingmakers to nominate and recommend Attah designate to the Achadu and onward transmission to the Igala Area Traditional Council?
In line with the best practices and procedures provided by the law in force we therefore make the following prayers
1. That it is only the process of nomination, recommendation duly followed by the
Igalamela kingmakers headed by the Etemahi that should be upheld.
2. That the recommendation and nomination of Attah designate by HRH Usman Obaje be declared null and void as such nomination and recommendation is contrary to the laid down procedures in the extant Laws.
3. That should crisis emanate from the contrary process adopted by HRH Usman Obaje, he HRH Alhaji Usman Obaje should be held liable.
4. That HRH Alhaji Usman Obaje be made to do a disclaimer to his earlier position and announcement to avoid bad precedence to avoid looming crisis in our dear Igala Kingdom.
Your Execllency, we have no doubt in your capacity to right this wrong.
As you are aware, the youths are the bridge between the now and the future as such, this body stands firm to preserve the future of the great Igala nation by ensuring the right thing is done.
Thank Goodness you are from this Constituency we therefore have faith you will not let your own Constituency down at this point in time.
It is also pertinent you right the wrong to help clear the air as there’s rumour making round that the actions of HRH Alhaji Usman Obaje is powered and backed by some of Your cabinet members.
It is good we make it known here that our vested interest is allowing for due diligence and strict adherence to all laid down procedures in our extant laws.
We anticipate your forthright action on this matter without delay.
