Omala Assembly Lawmaker, Hon. Umar Yahaya Spends N10m, Empowers Over 400 Constituents

The Member Representing Omala State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Yahaya has empowered over 400 constituents with the sum of N10m, promised to do more in quality representation and empowerment.

 

The breakdown of the empowerment done by the lawmaker showed that N3.5m was distributed to 400 Women and Youths across the eleven Wards of Omala LGA, while another over N5m was used by the lawmaker to purchase and distribute equipments like sewing, pumping and spraying machines as well as mechanical tool boxes to artisans and farmers.

Hon. Yahaya Umar said the Town Hall Meeting is aimed at briefing the constituents on his activities in the House as well as to gather feedbacks from the people. The empowerment he explained is targeted at cushioning and reducing the current hardship faced by the people across the country.

 

The Maiden State Constituency Town Hall meeting is said to be the first ever to have been organized by any elected representative from the area, discussed issues of security and welfare of the people of Omala LGA had critical stakeholders made up of Traditional Rulers including the Onuh Abejukolo, District Heads and Gagos in attendance.

Others at the meeting include; Technocrats, Religious Leaders, Youths and Women. SSA Youth Empowerment, Kogi East, State and Local Government Appointees as well as the Technical Adviser, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Also in attendance was the Council Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Aboh, the Council Vice Chairman, former Council Chairman, Hon. Labaran Oyigebe, Director DSS, Head of NSCDC, DPO amongst others too numerous to mention.

The Lawmaker promised quality representation that would attract development and infrastructure to the area, urged for the people’s support.

In their separate remarks, the Constituents lauded and appreciated the effort of the Lawmaker, described the Town Hall Meeting as first since the commencement of the nation’s current democratic experimentation.
