Omala APC Campaign Flagoff: DG Campaign Hon. Umar ‘Connect’ Thank Stakeholders, Donates ₦.5M
Hon. Umar Yahaya (Connect) and the member representing Omala State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, has expressed his gratitude to party stakeholders and supporters across the 11 wards of the local government for their commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign. Hon. Yahaya, who also serves as the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, urged stakeholders to work tirelessly towards the victory of Hon. Mark Edibo Ameh, the APC candidate for Omala LGA Chairmanship, and all APC councillorship candidates in the upcoming local government elections on October 19, 2024.
The campaign flagoff, which took place on Saturday at Abejukolo, the headquarters of Omala Local Government Area, witnessed a large turnout of party stakeholders, loyalists, and new decampees to the APC. The inauguration which was done by the former Ambassador to Botswana, HE. Amb. Issac Onuh was marked by speeches and assurances of the party’s commitment to the people of Omala.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Yahaya assured the people of Omala that under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the APC is committed to delivering the dividends of democracy and prioritizing the welfare of the people. He cited the ongoing rehabilitation of the Omala Township road as evidence of the administration’s focus on infrastructural development. He further promised that more development projects would be executed in Omala during Governor Ododo’s tenure.
In a show of support for the campaign, Hon. Yahaya donated ₦500,000 to the Omala APC Campaign Council, pledging to continue supporting the party’s efforts. He emphasized that the success of the party is his top priority and pledged to ensure a 100% victory for APC candidates across the local government.
The ceremony was graced by notable figures from Omala, including political leaders and former office holders like Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark (APC Chairmanship candidate), Hon. Atuluku Victor Levi (Commissioner for Transportation), Hon. Umar Yahaya (KSHA representative for Omala), and Hon. Alih Shehu (Omala APC party chairman).
Others include H.E Ambassador Isaac Onu, Chief Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh (Immediate past Executive Chairman, Omala LGA), Hon. Simeon Omale (Secretary to the Transition Committee), Hon. Arome Alfa, Hon Joy Odaudu, Hon. Alina Abuh, Hon. Matthew Ochada HMO (Former SSA to the Gov), Hon. Daniel Yusuf, Hon. Lazarus Akuboh, Dr James Baba, Hon. Sunday Alfa among various former local government leaders and political influencers in Omala.
The campaign flagoff marked the beginning of intensive grassroots mobilization efforts as the APC aims to consolidate its political strength in Omala LGA ahead of the October 19th elections.
