Okun Must Forge United Front, ObaroOkun Must Forge United Front, Obaro

It is only by forging a united front that the Okun people of Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State can overcome their development challenges, the Obaro of Kabba and the Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi has said.

Oba Owoniyi spoke at Ekinrin-Adde yesterday when he paid goodwill visits to the Olu-Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu and the Are Asiwaju of Ekinrin-Adde, Major General Julius Osanupin.

Saying the visit was made in the spirit of Easter, the Obaro said highlighting the things that divide the Okun people would only further distract them from the onerous task of building a strong and self reliant Okunland.

He said the history of mankind through the ages was that of movement and migration adding that it was unhelpful to continue to describe as strangers people who had lived in their present locations for many decades.

Oba Owoniyi spoke of the fraternal relations between Kabba and Ekinrin-Adde and promised to do all within his powers to build positive linkages between Kabba and other Okun communities during his reign.

Responding, the Olu-Adde thanked the Obaro for the visit which he said was the first anyone could remember by a reigning Obaro of Kabba to his kingdom.

He promised to continue to work with the Obaro in building the Okunland of the dreams of the people of the area.

The Obaro later proceeded to the ornate residence of the Osanupins on a similar visit.

Oba Owoniyi was accompanied by his Honorary Technical Adviser (Media), Mr. Tunde Ipinmisho and the President of Club 12, Kabba, Mr. Adekunle Aribido.
