…calls for better road network in Okene
Captain Timi Iyela has reacted to the tragic incident of a road accident that happened on Tuesday, March 15, 2022; at the Total junction of Okene Local Government.
He commiserated with the victims and their families and pray that God heals the injured. He also prayed for those whose shops were affected, that God restores them speedily.
He lamented the road network around the Total junction. He called on the Government to find reason to already find an alternative means for the trailer vehicles that do ply that route.
“I mourn the losses our people suffered yesterday. It was really a black Tuesday to me. My prayers at this time are with those affected by the accident, may God heal the injured and may God restore the businesses of the shop-owners affected.
“I use this time to call on dthe Government to improve on the road network around the Total junction axis to provide means to accommodate the trailer vehicles that do ply that route or better still, an alternative means be provided for the trailer vehicles that do ply the route, to protect other road users from them.
“This accident is one too many. It should never again have to happen. My thoughts and prayers are with the good people of Okene. They will rise stronger from this tragedy. Amen,” Captain Timi Iyela said.
