Oil Producing State: Kogi Lawmaker Hails Gov. Bello, Calls for Development of Ibaji LGA


 

The member representing Ibaji Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Atule Egbunu has commended the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his relentless effort which ensured the recent declaration of the State as an oil producing State.

The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission had recently approved Kogi and Anambra as an Oil producing states.

Hon. Egbunu while reacting to the cheering news told Newsmen in Lokoja that the enlistment was a dream come true and the best gift to Kogi people from the President Muhammadu Buhari led Administration.

The Lawmaker who expressed delight over the development, said the Governor has again demonstrated that the Youths have the capacity to provide purposeful leadership at all levels of government if given the opportunity.

“As Kogi has now become an oil producing State, the State will witness unprecedented development and I now that Ibaji is not an exception.”

According to him, the Ibaji people will forever be grateful to Governor Bello for pursuing the dream of the former Lawmaker representing Ibaji State Constituency, Late Hon. John Abah who had moved a motion at the floor of the House for the declaration of Kogi as an oil producing State.

Hon. Egbunu while paying glowing tribute to his predecessor for his outstanding service to the State and Ibaji people, called on the Governor to use his remaining years in office to facilitate the fixing of roads in Ibaji Local Government Area.

According to him, his constituents are mostly farmers, saying the poor state of the roads has made movement of farm produce from Ibaji to other parts very difficult.

“As I’m talking to you now, there’s no market in Ibaji as traders don’t have access to the Local Government especially the headquarters. That’s why I am urging our amiable Governor to prevail on the Federal Government to Rehabilitate our road.”

Hon. Egbunu who commended the State Government for the ongoing operation light up Kogi East, called for the completion of all electrification projects in the Area.
