The Ohimegye Igu of kotonkarfe kingdom, Dr Saidu Akawu Salihu has called on his subjects to be united as one indivisible family for the growth and development of the area.
The Ohimegye made the call in a message during a prayer session in honor of his one year anniversary on the throne held in kotonkarfe.
The Royal Father maintain that since his accession on the throne , he has been building peace among his people which he said is yielding results, stressing that the turbulent situation within kotonkarfe is totally under control through the intervention of security agencies and commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for building upon the sound security foundation put in place by the former Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
The commissioner for solid Minerals, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, represented by Hon Baba Ohi, felicitated with the Ohimegye on his one year on the throne, stressing that peace has returned to kotonkarfe and it environs.
In a remark, the Maigairi of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir assert that, who ever God has chosen for a position of leadership should be respected , while the Ohinoyi of Gegu Beki, Alhaji Muhammad Alhassan and that of Girinya, Mallam Muhammad Ganaguda said the accession of Dr Saidu Akawu Salihu to the throne is by Allah’s design calling on the people of the area to give him the needed support.
Also speaking, the member representing Kogi kotonkarfe constituency in the state house of assembly, Idris Aliyu Maikudi described the one year anniversary as special in the life of the traditional ruler, noting that the wanton destruction of properties by some misguided youths is uncalled for and sued for peace in the area.
Guest Speakers at the occasion, Ustaz Yunusa Muhammad and Ustaz Yusuf Ahmed noted that Allah has given Dr Saidu Akawu Salihu the Saddle to rule his people , there for no man can change it and urged the Ohimegye to rule with humility and wisdom.
